ABOUT THE ARTIST

EVA MIEDEMA creates contemporary, large portraits of high quality. The meters high, penetrating works of art of the Dutch artist catch all the attention at exhibitions both at home and abroad. An expressive and contemporary work of her hand is an addition to any interior.

Aesthetic artworks with strong intimate emotions. Her mission is to capture a story, a soul on canvas. To translate words into images. Impressive portraits of mainly women. Unique is the choice for the main medium East Indian ink. Combined with materials such as 23 carat gold leaf, she creates a flowing, daring, expressive style with strong lines.

With her work she tries to start conversations and arouse curiosity. Topics such as diversity, inclusivity, both social and political issues and also the personal search for who we are can be seen in her work. And not only the correct representation of someone's appearance is what she strives for, precisely showing what happens inside is what intrigues her, this depiction is what she is good at.

The energetic Noordwijker has presented her artwork at many (inter)national art exhibitions over the past two years. Her work has been on display at the Hilton in Paris, the Masters Expo, Women in Art in Amsterdam and the Art & Luxury Fair in Noordwijk. This spring, her artwork will be on display for the second time at Art Laren.
