Living the Dream

This series of 4 paintings delves into a dream world incessantly presented to us by social media. In an era where many have a phone addiction and scroll aimlessly in search of 'inspiration', social media has transformed into a platform of escapism. Behind the curtain of beautiful interiors, clothing, and idyllic holidays, however, lies a stark reality - an illusion that remains elusive for many. The dream world you can construct on these platforms ultimately remains something abstract, accessible to only a few, but it makes reaching for social media to escape to dreamier worlds tempting. By combining a collection of images from platforms like Pinterest and Instagram into a visual story, I have constructed my own dream worlds with this series.
