Living the Dream

This series of 4 paintings delves into a dream world that is constantly presented to us by social media. In an era where many are addicted to their phones and aimlessly scroll for 'inspiration', social media has become a platform for escapism. However, behind the curtain of beautiful interiors, clothes, and idyllic holidays lies a stark reality - an illusion that remains elusive for many. The dream world that can be constructed on these platforms ultimately remains abstract, accessible to only a few, but it makes grabbing social media to escape to more dreamlike worlds tempting. By combining a collection of images from platforms such as Pinterest and Instagram into a visual story, I have constructed my own dream worlds with this series.
