Collection: Jacqueline Wouters | Geometric & Figurative Art

Jacqueline Wouters grew up in Mijdrecht, playing between demolition material, steel constructions and industrial shapes from her grandfather's company. Those raw, geometric elements still form the basis of her work.

Later she became deeply inspired by Asia: Zen, simplicity, rhythm and the meditative approach to art. She combines these influences in paintings in which industrial forms acquire a spiritual, almost cosmic charge.

Jacqueline works with acrylic, oil and watercolour on MDF or canvas. She plays with contrasts: tight versus flowing, matt versus gloss, sober next to intense use of colour. With circles, lines, tubes and stencils she builds layered, rhythmic compositions. Her work is abstract, graphic and always without horizon - a journey inwards.
