Collection: Carolien Beekman

Carolien Beekman (born 1964) graduated as an independent photographer from the Amsterdam Photo Academy in 2017. Her work consists primarily of landscapes and stills, always requiring something to "grind." Her themes typically revolve around contradictions, whether or not they are manipulated in her images. Sometimes very colorful, sometimes very understated, depending on the choices she makes. Her recurring theme is "Disturbance in Tranquility." She draws inspiration from her travels both domestically and internationally. Her images are vulnerable yet powerful; the longer you look, the more you see.

In addition to her freelance work, she creates many images in her own style for clients. She also volunteers for her local community.
