Lieuwe Kingma
About the artist

Lieuwe Kingma (Grijpskerk, 1957) received his training at the Minerva Academy in Groningen. There he learned to paint in the traditional way: from observation. Over the years, Kingma built up an impressive oeuvre, in which he constantly pushed his boundaries. The same subjects constantly recur: landscapes in the South of France, vast polders in Groningen, still lifes with vases, flowers or apples and nudes.
In the more than 35 years that Lieuwe has been professionally active as a painter, his work has received national and international recognition. An extensive description of his oeuvre and how collectors appreciate his work can be found in the book "Lieuwe Kingma, 25 Years of Art", 2010.
