Coraline Bäcker

Coraline's inspiration stems from everyday life and childhood memories. The environment in which she grew up still serves as an important source of inspiration for her work. From a young age, she knew that painting was her great passion. She values the preservation of figurative painting and sees it as a tradition that must be carefully continued.
Coraline's oeuvre is versatile and includes portraits, still lifes, landscapes, nudes, and animals. Her style ranges from impressionistic and finely realistic to abstract. The inspiration she draws from her subjects, combined with the depiction of texture, light, and color, forms the essence of her painting.
Coraline worked as a botanical illustrator at Wageningen Agricultural University and attended evening classes for five years at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arnhem. She also studied at the European Academy of Fine Arts in Trier (Germany). She gained national recognition through Verkerke Reproductie, which led to her work being distributed worldwide. Additionally, she created designs for Lanarte embroidery kits and provided illustrations for Wina Born's Great International Herb Cookbook. Her work is regularly exhibited both nationally and internationally.
