About photographer Carolien Beekman
Â

Carolien Beekman (1964) graduated as an autonomous photographer from the Photo Academy in Amsterdam in 2017. Her work primarily consists of landscapes and stills, always with an element of 'friction'. Her themes usually revolve around contrasts, whether manipulated in her images or not. Sometimes very colourful, sometimes very sober, depending on the choices she makes. Her ongoing main theme is therefore 'Disturbance in Tranquility'. She draws inspiration from her travels at home and abroad. Her images are vulnerable yet powerful; the longer you look, the more you see.
In addition to her free work, she creates many images in her style for clients. She also voluntarily produces reports for her local community.
